Who could use a little more laughter in their lives these days?
The other day I connected with a friend of mine who I’ve known since 1988. We don’t connect all that much, but when we do . . . it’s as if we left off right where we did the last time we talked. Know what I mean?
We ended up texted back and forth for over an hour, and the things we talked about were so silly and goofy, that I found myself laughing so hard that I was crying. Tears were rolling done my face. My daughter came into my office and was like, “Are you okay mom?”
It felted so good to connect to that authentically, silly side of myself and laugh from the bottom of my gut for a good hour or so. Afterwards, I felt this lightness and bouncy energy that continued to radiate for a long time.
With all of the intensity energy ‘in the air’ right now, it’s more important than ever to find ways to unplug and unwind from it all, giving yourself space to return to joy and lightness through laughter.
I find that laughing is one of the best ways to counter balance heavy, intense energy that can easily drag us down and into a spiral or anxiety, fear, worry or even anger.
So. . . what can you do this week to experience more laughter in your life? Get silly, laugh out loud and find others who
will join you in this happy place.
